Wind Farm Controversy

This video shows the 2019 debate surrounding the building of wind farms in Madison County, Iowa.

Students could:

• Research and identify the wants and needs of different stakeholders in wind energy.
• List and prioritize criteria for and constraints on electricity generation in Iowa.
• Analyze wind energy in light of criteria and constraints and compare to other electricity sources.
• Investigate where and how a student’s home or a school’s electricity is generated and whether similar controversies around wind energy or other generation modes exist in their area.
